As a boy growing up on my grandmothers’ farm, I was always struck
by the beauty of nature around me. With my dad by my side I became
a skilled hunter, an avid fisherman and learned to express those days in
the field with a camera. Through the years I have been able to combine
my love for the outdoors into a business.
Always a fisherman and wanting to help others enjoy the sport, I
opened a fly fishing shop in Baltimore, Maryland. In the process, I
became a freelance writer, speaker, author of several books and booklets
on the art of fly fishing, doing all of the photography work for the books
and slide shows.
The Fisherman's Edge Fly shop existed for fifteen years before I decided
to retire and play more. (My wife always thought I played before this.)
Within those fifteen years I introduces thousands of folks into the art of
fly fishing and created in the process some flies that are used all over
the world.
I have been truly blessed to have taken hobbies and made a living doing
them. Throughout all these years a fly rod and a camera has been my
companions
"I love the power of the photograph to instantly remember those days in
the field." And I still enjoy helping folks explore these two sports.
