The "Fly Fishing for, Striper Bass, Smallmouth Bass and Panfish" are all "Get Started
Books." I have always enjoyed helping folks become effective fly fishers in the shortest
amount of time and offer this series of books to get you started on some of my favorite
gamefish.
These fish have been pursued personally for over forty-plus years and these “GET
STARTED BOOKS" express some of my knowledge and experience to help you jump start
your pursuit of these fine gamefish. All titles are under a hundred pages, but with some real
techniques to put fish on your line and each book describe some fly patterns and how to tie
them that maybe you aren't familiar with and also fishing techniques to fish them.

The other book hiding behind the "Get Started Books" is my "Fly Design Theory &
Practice." This book is my bible on fly tying for the fish, not the fisherman. It goes into
detail about designing flies to help catch fish during their aggressive, neutral and passive
moods, and fly patterns to back up my theories.
" When I first met Joe a number of years ago, and first saw and used some of his flies, I
was struck by his approach to fly design. Here was a guy who actually thought through what
he was trying to accomplish with a fly, and then devised a way to make it perform like he
envisioned. He was always trying to do things like imitate a specific fishing problem and the
like. He always had a reason for why he tied a fly a certain way, and as far as I could see, he
was always right. In this book Joe reveals his approach to fly design, and tell you how and
why things work. You'll pick up a few fishing tips along the way, too. There is no doubt in my
mind that understanding and using Joe's principles of fly design will make you a better fly
tyer, and probably a better fisherman as well."

Over forty years fishing the fly rod and fishing 100 plus days a year has given me a pretty good insight of flies and fishing
techniques to be successful. I have been fortunate enough to have fished many places in the United States as well in foreign
countries and have fished to many different species of fish. These booklets are designed and compiled to allow you to tie the
proper set of flies for any specie of fish in the world. A few are even more specific to certain fish. I know the flies illustrated and
techniques in these booklets are all that you need to be a successful fly fisherman chasing fish in the salt, ponds or rivers.
Panfish Fly Patterns- A collection of flies designed to catch these feisty and tasty fish, both in fresh & saltwater.
Fly Fishing for Shad- This booklet looks at the two main shad pursued by the fly fisherman... the American & Hickory Shad.
This booklet is filled with fishing techniques and patterns that will make you a successful shad
fisherman.
Smallmouth Bass Fly Patterns- This is one of my favorite fish species. I fished for them in every one of the Great Lakes and
some of the largest smallmouth rivers in the United States. This booklet will describe my best smallie
patterns to pursue these great gamefish.
Fly Fishing for Chain Pickerel- This one is my favorite fish to pursue in the colder months along the Atlantic Coast's brackish
and freshwaters. These are the wolves of their domain. This booklet describe where and how to catch
them and a couple of patterns that will turn these guys on.
Redfish Fly Patterns- This booklet contains all the flies I have ever thrown to redfish as well as speckled trout in the marshes
from the East Coast to Texas. A must book for the fly fisherman tackling these bruisers of the marsh.
Saltwater Fly Patterns I & II- These two booklets contain every fly pattern that I use in the salt around the world. You will find
through the years that these will be the only patterns you need to be successful in the salt. They are
sold separately, but you will want both copies for your arsenal.
Bonefish Fly Patterns- This booklet contains all the patterns I use for bonefish around the world. I fish for bones for to five
times a year and never once have I needed another fly to catch these speedsters of the flats. A must
for the bonefisherman with the fly rod.
Chasing the bonefish & Unraveling some Bonefish Myths- Much has been written about bonefish and some of it would surely
scare a newcomer wanting to try for this great gamefish. This booklet will help take away some of these beliefs. All that is
written isn't always true. Find out what you need to know about catching this speedster.
